Literacy & Numeracy Support Assistant

 
 

Supply Team Education are looking for a Literacy & Numeracy Support Assistant to work in a secondary school in Newport. This will be a full-time position starting in September and continuing on an on-going basis.

The successful candidate will be supporting students who have upcoming exams, enabling them to develop their numeracy and literacy skills as well as boosting their confidence within the subject matter.

We would welcome applications from candidates who have undertaken similar roles in the past, or who have a background in providing support to children and/or young adults. A patient, empathetic  and understanding character would be well suited to this role, as you will be building relationships with student who will benefit greatly from the additional support.

What you can expect in the role of a Numeracy and Literacy Support Assistant:

·         To work under the guidance of the class teacher in supporting the pupils;

·         Assisting with the preparation of the classroom before each lesson, as well as tidying/collecting workbooks etc at the end;

·         Working on a one-to-one basis where required;

·         Attendance of school trips;

·         Being aware of child protection and safeguarding  protocols;

·         Accompanying pupils whilst out of class;

·         Carry out general administrative duties, as directed;
