1. Do I need qualifications to work with Supply Team?

It depends on the role you’re interested in. Anyone wishing to work as a Qualified Teacher will require the relevant Teaching qualification, as well as holding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

If you are looking to take on a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor role, schools accept qualified and unqualified candidates, providing you have at least 3 months worth of experience working with children in a professional capacity in the UK within the past year.

NB: All classroom based roles in Wales require the applicant to hold registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

  2. What counts as ‘experience of working with children’?

Experience of working with children could be working or volunteering at your local school, church group or community group, mentoring, sports coaching or tutoring. If you have worked at a summer camp, either home or abroad, this would also count as relevant experience. Generally, anything that has given you the opportunity to work closely with children, in a structured environment. If you are unsure, just get in touch today and one of our team will be able to talk you through everything!

  3. Does it cost money to register with Supply Team Education?

Not a penny! Everything we do here with regards the registration process is completely free of charge. The only cost implications that you will have to consider will be paying for an enhanced DBS certificate if you haven’t already got one, and the annual fee for your EWC registration. For any information on this, please get in touch.

  4. How much work will I get?

Due to all of our work being temporary, we cannot guarantee a certain amount of hours per week. Our roles can range from one day bookings up to a whole academic year therefore the amount of work you get will depend on the demand of the schools and your personal availability.

  5. What if I get another job?

No problem. As you are registered with us for temporary work, you are free to finish at any stage. Should you receive another job offer that you wish to accept, simply get in touch with us and we will make the necessary leaving arrangements. We will also be delighted to assist you with employment references, if required.

  6. Is training available?

Yes, we work closely with ACT training and the NSPCC to provide relevant training and professional development to our candidates.

  7. What if I’m already registered with an agency?

Great - it is a good idea to have more than one option when it comes to supply work. There are no restrictions on the number of organisations that you can work with at any one time.
